Our Take

TradingView is where most traders now begin their day, and its ubiquity is well earned. It runs in any browser with nothing to install, the charting is the best on the web, and the social feed and published-idea library create a community no desktop platform can match.

Pine Script makes indicator and strategy creation unusually approachable, and the multi-asset coverage — futures, equities, FX, and crypto in one workspace — means you rarely need a second charting tool. Alerts can fire to webhooks, which opens the door to lightweight automation without a dedicated execution platform.

The limits show up when you push into serious futures work: backtesting is shallow compared with NinjaTrader or TickBlaze, and order-flow and volume-profile depth trail the specialists. As a charting hub and community it is hard to beat; as an institutional execution-and-backtesting engine it is not trying to be one.
